Exploring Maastricht with care and respect
Why I choose small-scale and personal tourism
Tourism can enrich a city, but it can also put pressure on it.
In Maastricht, I believe in a way of guiding that offers more than standard routes and large groups. My approach is small-scale, personal, and respectful; so that visitors truly experience the city while the city center remains liveable for everyone.
Maastricht deserves a form of tourism that does not overload the city, but rather strengthens it.
Large groups shuffling behind a guide add little to the experience and put heavy strain on the livability of the city center. That’s why I consciously choose an alternative: small-scale, personal, and respectful tourism.
A city walk that allows space for encounters, for quiet moments, and for unexpected discoveries; so that both visitors and residents benefit from the experience.
My contribution to this qualitative tourism is very personal. I work with small groups, adjusted to pace and interests, without a fixed route. This way, every guest can truly experience the city, while helping to prevent Maastricht from becoming just a backdrop for mass tourism.
In this way, the city remains hospitable to visitors and liveable for its residents.
Would you like to experience Maastricht with care and attention?
I’d be glad to take you along.
